The Sports Executive Committee (commonly referred to as Sports Execs) are a group of volunteer students that assist the Sports Officer, SUSU and Sport Swansea staff in the successful running of student sport through feedback and engagement events.
What do the Sports Exec do?
The Sports Execs meet every 4 weeks to discuss plans for the term, go over feedback from the sports teams about how everything is going and any issues that need to be discussed.
The main responsibilities include:
- Support the Sport Swansea Staff with logistics on BUCS Wednesdays & Captains Bar in the evening.
- Accommodate and run events with the Sports Officer, such as Fresher’s Fayre, Ladies Day, Charity Events, BUCS Super Rugby, Movember, Green Collar Boxing, Varsity, and the Sport Swansea Awards.
- Contribute to monthly meetings with the Sports Officer and other executives to raise any student sport feedback with the group. As well as assisting the Sports Officer to make well informed decisions.
- Aid with the development and running of intramural leagues across multiple sports.
Listening and acting on feedback from your own and other sports clubs.
Generate and produce social media content & coverage at events and BUCS Wednesdays with the Sports Officer.
Assist with applying for funding from external bodies for SU-led sports projects and with the allocation process.
