All paid and unpaid coaches (internal and external), and anyone who has a recognised qualification that they are using within a Swansea University Sport Club must complete a Coach Service Level Agreement (SLA). The purpose of this agreement is to establish and maintain a standard for sport coaches and to protect the members of Swansea University Sport/Swansea University Students' Union using their services.
The Service Level Agreement outlines the responsibilities of the coach, payment information (where relevant) and expectations of both parties. It is a binding contract between the club and the coach that runs by default to the 31st July in any given year (it can be extended upon review).
In order to receive your club-specific SLA, please complete this form alongside your appointed coach and once signed by both parties, return the document to sportsadmin@swansea.ac.uk with the subject 'Coach SLA- 'Your Sports Club Name'. In order to complete the form, you will need the following details from your Coach:
Home Address
Phone Number
Email Address
Qualifications (Coaching, First Aid, DBS, Liability Insurance)
Agreed Rate of Pay
Confirmation that they are happy to share their information and data to Swansea University Students' Union (SUSU) and Swansea University Sport.
Any non-student coach will also need to create a 'Guest Account' on www.swansea-union.co.uk in order to be allocated 'Associate Membership'. The purpose of this is to ensure they agree to abide by SUSU's Code of Conduct.
Please note that a completed SLA document must be signed by both the club and the coach, and returned to Swansea University Sport before any work can be undertaken (or payments made).
N.B. An example of the template you will receive is attached to this article for reference.
